    The bottom line is that an online class is the same as a face-to-face class. You find out the needs and interests of your student (aka 'needs analysis') and then build the lesson around that.

    Don't get too caught up in making it interactive or technological or cutting edge. Teach English - that's the bottom line.

    Face-to-face classes can be very different and are affected by what is available to the teacher, and the same is true of teaching online. Teaching a large class with no resources has things in common with teaching in a well-resourced environment, but there are differences in what can be done.
