Default will be made by scientists

In the near future, more advances in the robot technology __________ by scientists.

The given answer is 'will be made', which seems to me grammatically correct.

    My questions:
    1. Is 'in robot technology' (without 'the') better?
    2. How would the sentence in the passive voice sound to native speakers?

    Thank you in advance.

As a native speaker, 'In the near future, more advances in robot technology will be made by scientists.' sounds better.

The sentence is already in the passive voice. The active voice would be, 'In the near future, scientists will make more advances in robot technology.

Not necessarily. It depends on the previous sentences. They could be writing about several technologies, and they want to make clear that it's the robot technology that they think will advance.

    2. How would the sentence in the passive voice sound to native speakers?
It is in the passive voice, and it sounds OK.
    Thank you in advance.
