The only way to be absolutely sure how someone's name is pronounced, is to ask the person.

This site ,Pronounce Names - Pronounce Locher, How to pronounce Locher, How to pronounce the name Locher, Pronunciation of Locher, how to say Locher, how to say the name Locher suggests that it may be pronounced so as to to rhyme with 'poker'. There is no guarantee that your Mr Locher did this.

Thanks. That book was authored in 18?? So it is hard to as the author :)

What I wanted to make sure of is weather the "ch" is pronounced as "k" or "ch". And it seems that the website you provided says it is a "k".

    Thanks and regards.
