Dear teachers,

Would you be kind enough to give me your considered opinion concerning the interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentence?

[FONT=&quot]Miss Carter….said the children had given her some flowers....It’s a delightful gesture and Miss Carter, I may say, was tickled pink about it. (I. Murdock, The Sandcastle”)[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot] [/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]be tickled pink = be in ruptures, be enraptured, be delighted [/FONT]
[FONT=&quot] [/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]V.[/FONT]

I do hope Miss Carter was not really in ruptures. ;-)
