    To put one's best foot forward is an idiomatic expression that urges one to put in his best even at the very first attempt.There is usually an instict in man that seeks to "keep the best" until it is indispensably needed.Such ideology could be suicidal in many caese...eg...a football(soccer)coach who decides to keep his best players on the reserve bench may not survive that very costly mistake.
