What does "brought along" mean in the context?

When you think of yourself in relation to others, do you see yourself as a good people reader, a fixer, or a facilitator? Or are you one of the ones who is brought along by the person with the people skills?

Brought into the company (context), included, encouraged to join/follow... but the text is a little confusing. I am unsure who has the people skills, normally we wouldn't say THE people skills... but as this wasn't your question, no problem.
