In most cases, software problems are resolved with a simple update.

Do these mean the same thing?
Not exactly. 'Fix' and 'resolve' mean the same thing in this context.
"Fix it with an update" tends to imply they will bring out an update specifically for this.
"Fix it in an update" tends to imply they will fix it when they next release an update.
