    what is the difference ( and similarity ) between a drop in the bucket and a drop in the ocean ?

    I know only 'a drop in the ocean'. If 'a drop in the bucket' is used, then it will have the same meaning.

    "A drop in the bucket" is frequently heard in AmE. As 5jj has told you, they mean the same thing. A drop in the bucket
