    Default Currpt OR Currpted?

    Hello,

    Which one is right?

    (1) "Files are corrupt" OR

    (2) "Files are corrupted"

I think the first sounds better, but I've seen the second used often enough.

    Hello Peter2005,

I agree with tdol. They are both correct.

    1. The files are corrupt. "Corrupt" here is an adjective and is appropriate.

    2. The files are corrupted. "Corrupted" is a past participle being used as an adjective. The verb "are" is a linking verb connecting corrupted to files (corrupted files--makes sense).

    I hope this helps!
