    two-way conversation

    Hello,

When answering a question, what's the difference between:

Q: Was John talking on the phone?
    A: Yes, he was.
    and
    A: Yes, he was talking.

    Thanks in advance

    Re: two-way conversation

A: Yes, he was. This is more natural. There is no need to repeat talking.
