    teach in/at a school

    1. I teach in/at a school?
    2. I study in/at a primary school/university?
    3. I work in/at a computer company?

Should I use "in" or 'at" in the above sentences?

    Thanks for your help?

    Re: teach in/at a school

It's not as simple as that.

    1. A teacher would say 'I teach at a school in London'.

    2. A young child would say 'I go to (a primary) school near our house'.

A university student would say 'I'm studying at (Manchester) University'.

    3. An employee would say 'I work for a computer company'.

    Thanks.

    1. Do you mean " I teach in a school" is incorrect?
    2. Can I say "My son is studying at /in ABC primary school" in a letter?
    3. Can I say "I am working at/in a computer company" in a letter?

I think that's just the ways English speakers speak, "teach at a school", "study at a university", "work for a company".
If there is some explain, I would like to know it.
    Thank you very much!

    1. Do you mean " I teach in a school" is incorrect? It's grammatically correct but not colloquial.

    2. Can I say "My son is studying at /in ABC primary school" in a letter? We'd say 'My son goes to ABC primary school, not is studying at/in ABC primary school.

    3. Can I say "I am working at/in a computer company" in a letter? You can say whatever you want in a letter. Most native speakers would say 'I am working for a computer company'.
