    bulk garbage

Such an old retiree as me is sometimes
    referred to as 'oversized garbage'.
Is it so in English too? Any other
    terms?
    Thank you.

    Wow!

It reminds me of this film by Imamura, "the Ballad of Narayama":

There are words that refer to old people in a not-so-nice way in all languages I suppose, but in French, I can't think of any as derogatory as this one, and I don't know of any in English, at least that would be of a common usage in a group of people...

"Blue-rinse mafia"?... (An English friend of mine once used that when watching a busload of elderly people at a tourists attraction. I still find it quite amusing in fact )

geezer, slang, refers to an old man.

Itasan, you might want to add a bit of context for us to work with. Maybe explain what "oversized garbage" means to Japanese. It is respectful, derogatory, slang? "Such an old retiree as me" doesn't help much. We don't know your character. <wink>
