Hi,

Are the following sentences natural to a native ear?

1. Do you want to try a hand? ( I invited a friend to play a board game)

2. How far back in the past can I get the data? ( I was looking at the population data of a city. I wanted to know what is the oldest data I can get.)

3. How far back in history can this data go?

Thanks,
MG.

1 I would use hand for cards not board games.
2 I would use the question for #3
3 I would use does

1. Like Tdol, I would use "a hand" for card games, not board games. Perhaps "Would you like to join in?" or "Do you want to have a go?" or "Would you like to play Monopoly/Scrabble etc?"

2. How far back does the data go (and can I access it)?

3. How far back does this data go?
