    Default company Sing./Pl.

Should company (as a business oragnisation) be used in Singular or Plural?
E.g. "Your company has been authorised to process scrap. or
    Your company have been authorised..."
    Thank You!

Singular. Never heard of Plural used with company as an organization.

    Good luck ;)

It depends- in British English, the use of the plural is very common, but in American English, the singular is generally used.

Oh, that's new to me! Thanks tdol.
Is it the same case with generic terms like 'police, family' etc.?

'Police' is always used in the pluarl. With other collective nouns in BrE, we can use either, though the plural is more common. With 'company', you'll see the plural being used a lot when talking about the activities of a company, but as a singular if it is being sold, where we're thinking about the company as a single thing. When we think of groups of people doing something together in a group, we tend to head for the plural in the UK.
