Shortly after the studio was formed, the shop came about

    Dear all,

I read this sentence written by native speaker

Shortly after the studio was formed, the shop came about

Is the choice of phrasal verb correct ?

    Many thanks

It doesn't sound natural to me. Shops don't "come about". They open. They are founded. They are opened.
