    Default Heck no

I understood ur expression 'heck no' by Google search .That means an expression to show that you vehemently disagree with what a person has just said to you......
    Thank you.
I also want to know the reason.

Please do not ask completely different questions in an existing thread. I have moved this question to a new thread.

    NOT A TEACHER

    (1) My dictionary tells me that "heck" is a "nice way" to say the word "Hell."

    (2) As you know, Christian people believe in Heaven and Hell.

    (3) Many years ago, people were very careful when they used the word "Hell."

    (4) If you said "Hell no," people would be shocked and angry. So people decided

to say something that sounded something like "hell." They coined (invented) the

    word "heck."

    (5) For example, many years ago people could not say "Damn it!" So people

    started to say "Darn it!"

    (6) When you get time, study the word "euphemism."
