    Classmate

Is there any word for old classmate like ‘ex-president’, ‘ex-wife’ for former president and wife respectively?

I wonder how I greet them when we meet.

I suppose he/she already forgets who I am and I introduce myself, ‘Hi, I am your XX-the word, (my name).’ or just say, ‘I was your classmate, (my name).’

Hi, I'm Mary. We were classmates at Hong Kong primary school.

I think we'd be more likely to say, "We were in 5Z together at Surefail High," or, "I was in your/You were in my... Drama group at Surefail with 'Pinhead' Postule."

    Re: Classmate

Is it common to say "We went to ABC school together"?

For a college/university, they would be a fellow alumnus (or alumna).

    Thank you very much, SoothingDave.

I thought of using ‘alumni’. But it was my secondary classmate posting our recent gathering photos on facebook. One of our classmate he lives in the U.S. now. He saw the photo and said I looked familiar.

Then I thought how to introduce myself to him. It is similar to a situation if I meet him one day.
