    Smile Transfer over to....

    Hi everyone,

In a phone conversation with a customer care representative when they want to transfer to other department for some reason they say:

"Let me transfer over the sales department" for example

my question is about the word over. Is it extremely necesary to say or the representative can avoid it?

    thanks

    Re: Transfer over to....

Customers may say, "Please transfer me to the clothing department.'

The customer care representative may say, "Let me transfer you to the clothing department."

    or

'Let me transfer you over to Clothing".

In this sentence, it means "from here over to there."
