Well, I supposed they wouldn't have made such a priliminary mistake.It would be an amount.But isn't "an amount" possible?

"Portion" is true.
It's not "true"; it's "correct".
It's true that that answer is correct. It's not correct to say that the answer is true.

No. 'Amount' is not the same as 'portion'.

Leave a space after full stops, like you did after the earlier comma.
