    that (has) happened

At dinner time, I often enjoy telling Mom everything at school. (A) happened (B) was happening (C) that happened (D) which happening

The answer to the above question is C. But I think the past tense in option C is queer.
    What's your opinion?

    Hello Sitifan,

Is there a particular reason you wrote the word "often" in red?

At dinner time, I often enjoy telling Mom everything _________ at school.

The action of your sentence takes place at dinner time - after the school day has ended. Therefore, the only past tense choice that fits is "c".

I assume you missed out the blank space after everything.

If so, only C is grammatically correct.

I think the present perfect tense is better than the past tense. Am I right?

No, it's possible but not better. The simple past is better IMO.

    Sitifan,

In your first post you offered 4 possible answers. The only one of those four that is acceptable is "c".

I think the present perfect tense is better than the past tense.
    Alright, give us an example.

    Re: that (has) happened

Ok - it's a nice sentence and, as bhaisahab said, it's possible.
But as a native speaker I would use only the simple past.
At dinner time, I often enjoy telling Mom everything that happened at school.

    [not a teacher]

The use of "queer" in this sense is perfectly valid. However, in the US, this term has been used as a pejorative for "homosexual" (though lately has been reclaimed by they gay community). I would refrain from using this word (as you are using it) except in rare cases, and instead, go with the more often used "strange" or "odd".

Did you mean that the term 'queer" lately has been reclaimed by the gay community?
What on earth does "reclaim a term" mean?
