Can you help me with this?
This book is written by well-known writers. It's worth___________.

    b. reading it.

Which one is correct? Or both of them? Why?
I hope you will help me know more about English. Thanks for all your answers!

Because it's redundant. You are already saying that "it" is worth reading. The pronoun "it" stands in for "the book." Would you say "The book is worth reading the book"?

In my opinion, we can say "It's worth reading it". All of the sentences below are possible:

    That book is worth reading.
It (the book) is worth reading.
It (preparatory) is worth reading that book.
It (preparatory) is worth reading it (the book).

    NOT A TEACHER

    (1) If (a BIG "if") I understand my hero Henry Fowler correctly, he would require

"It is worth while reading that book."

    (a) That is, It (reading that book) is worth while (the time/ the effort). (He requires an

    object after "worth.")

    (2) IF I am representing his thoughts correctly, do you agree or do you think that

    Mr. Fowler's rule is "outdated"?

    Thank you.

I was going to suggest something along those lines. "It is worthwhile to read it."
