    Default Aren't I?

I just read in Michael Swan's book that the question tag for I am is aren't I ?" For example, I am late, aren't I?. I wanted to know if it's very common with native speakers? For I've been using am I not? to mean that.

    Default Re: Aren't I?

'Am I not?' is very formal. We normally use 'aren't I?'
