    a serious/severe drought

When we took over the garden in 2002 there was a serious/severe drought.

Are both adjectives fine for the sentence? Thank you in advance.

They're both OK. To me, "severe" suggests a worse situation than "serious".

    Re: a serious/severe drought

Meteorologists only seem to use severe drought.
