    Yes, but that doesn't help, because some people pronounce that as /ɑ:(r)/. Most speakers of standard BrE pronounce the diphthong of hour, flower, power, differently from the vowel of are, far, par.

    Many thanks for the links. I pronounce it same as "hour" myself but it is always good to know of the other different pronunciations that exist!
