Hi teachers,
According to this statement, 'She stared at Felix, and Felix stared back at her.'
Is this question appropriate? 'What did they do to each other? Is there a better one?
Is it better 'How do they look at each other?'

Thanks in advance

Hi teachers,
[STRIKE]According[/STRIKE]In relation to the statement, 'She stared at Felix, and Felix stared back at her", is this question appropriate - "What did they do to each other?"

Is there a better one?

Is [STRIKE]it better[/STRIKE] 'How [STRIKE]do[/STRIKE] did they look at each other?' better?

Thanks in advance.

The question "What did they do to each other?" is fine.

"How did they look at each other?" doesn't really work because you would expect to get an adverb in response. For example, "They looked at each other angrily". "To stare" can't be converted into an adverb (ie you can't say "They looked at each other starily").

You could also ask "Who stared at whom?"
