the seedy world = the dirty world? what does "the dangers are sidelined" mean?

Context:

Hundreds of medical students are turning to prostitution to fund their education after the seedy world’s glamorous portrayal in Secret Diary of a Call Girl, a report reveals.
The Billie Piper TV drama in which the dangers are sidelined and she ‘oozes glamour and sophistication’ may have added to the trend, a medical journal claims.

Players in a game are on the field. Those not playing are on the sidelines. In this case, the dangers of prostitution are not
"in the game" of this TV show. They are not a part of the story they are telling. They are on the sideline.

[AmE - not a teacher]

Additionally, players are "sidelined" when they are injured or otherwise not valuable. In this context, "sidelined" means overlooked and not properly accounted for.

Did you mean "the seedy world" refers to "the entertainment circle"?

Re: the seedy world = the dirty world? what does "the dangers are sidelined" mean?

Here, "the seedy world" refers to the disreputable milieu that a prostitute must often inhabit in society. And "sidelined" means deliberately not included in the story, although normally it would be considered part of such a story. The suggestion is that this has given a false impression of a call-girl's life.
