    Default under mom's thumb.

This is from a workbook, and I don't think "family man" is proper, it should be "a dedicated family man", right?
And what are similar expression for "under mom's thumb"? I remember "He is a hen-pecked husband".

A :Andy, how was your weekend?
B:Well, I played soccer with my dad.
A:Wow, your father is a family man.
B:Maybe. But the reason why my dad did so was because my mom forced him to do it.
    He's under mom's thumb.
