    One of my...

    I need help regarding the following statements (Which is the correct way to say?) :


    I got to know about this from one of my friend.
    OR
    I got to know about this from one of my friends.

    I got an admit from one of the University.
    OR
    I got an admit from one of the Universities.


    P.S. I need an explanation, too.

    I got an admit from one of the University. No.
    OR
    I got an admit from one of the Universities. No. "Admit" is a verb. If you want to use "admit", it should be "I have been admitted to .....".
