    Already + for.

    Is this sentence correct?

I am already a vegan for six years.

I know that we should use perfect tense with for but what should I do if I want to put already?

"I am already a vegan." "I have been for six years."

I have already been a vegan for six years.

In this context, it comes across a little like you are surprised at how quickly those six years have gone by. "Wow, I've been a vegan for six years ALREADY! That's amazing! It only feels like a few months."
