    Default Which is the best?

---Your iPad looks nice. Can I borrow it?
    ---_______________.
    A. Help yourself B. Go ahead C. Out of the question D. Come on

Which of the four is the best answer? Some of my colleague teachers think it hard to decide between A and B. I agree. But what about C, when simply do not want to lend your precious thing to others.
    Please help me! Thanks!

A, B and (for refusal) C are all possible. In speech, with the right intonation, D is also possible in speech. It could mean, with the right intonation, "Do you take me for an idiot?"

Isn't "help yourself" used especially for food? Help yourself to some salad.
    Thanks a lot

It can be used for anything- not only/especially food.
