Hello!

An old book writes this as a phrasal verb, but I think it is not.
I think it is something like "Eat launch!"
Should it be written as /dʊ raɪt/ or something else, having stress(es)?

Re: I need IPA transcription for "do right" (solving/doing something correctly)

I would place slightly more stress on the word "right" but not much. "Do" would still be the strong form of the word, as you've indicated in your transcription.

And I would also agree that "do right" is not a phrasal verb. Something is only a phrasal verb if the adverb changes the meaning of the verb. In this case, the literal meaning of "He does right" is "He is right to do it." In both cases, the verb is "do" and the meaning is the same.

In standard BrE phonemic transription, the strong form of 'do' is /du:/.

1- Why strong form? Wikipedia says: "For most of these, the weak form is the one usually encountered in speech" and this is not a phrasal verb to have a special stress pattern. is not strong form, LPD says it is weak form as in this entry: Do: duː, weak forms dʊ, də, d
and I have intentionally chosen it.

reference:
Weak form and strong form - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

2- Why slightly more stress on the word "right" but not much? Is this rule covered in specialized pronunciation books or any other book?

1- Why strong form?
In 'do right', DO is the main verb, not an auxiliary.

If this is a two word imperative sentence - "Do right!", "Have lunch", "Sit down", "Grow up!", etc. then both words are stressed the same.

In 'do right', DO is the main verb, not an auxiliary.
So, if DO is main verb, is it pronounced in strong form and if it is
auxiliary, is it
pronounced in weak form?

If this is a two word imperative sentence - "Do right!", "Have lunch", "Sit down", "Grow up!", etc. then both words are stressed the same.
This is against two other people here. I put an example sentences:
"When she does the puzzle right, the man gives her a reward."
However, it is not used as
a two word imperative sentence in the book. Does other people accept about "Do right!" that both words are stressed the same?
Maybe because you're from
Australia, your pronunciation rules differ somewhat from BrE and AmE.

1 Not always, when it's an auxiliary: 'You don't want that, do [/du:/] you?' But when it's lexical (that is, not an auxiliary) it's always :)-?...) used in the strong form.

No, it isn't.
I'mwithStupid said "

This is close enough to meaning "the same" to me, given individual differences, and the fact that he didn't say that's how it's normally done.
Who else has said that those two word imperatives are not given equal stress? Tell me. <- In this example, the second word has less stress since it's not as important a word. It means basically "Tell".

I don't think you'll find a native speaker saying that one of the words in "Do right", as a two-word exclamation, is unstressed.

No one. I was mistaken!

To finish problem with such stressed/unstressed that has been repeated many times, I say that the book that I have, has no
two word imperative form.

Finally I have used
/duː raɪt/ with no stress in my entry that has no two word imperative form.

Raymott wrote of a two-word imperative sentence, not of an imperative form. In 'do right', the verb is 'do' - that's the imperative form.

Thanks 5jj!
I was mistaken!
Happily, My book hasn't used it neither in
imperative form
"do!"
nor in
imperative sentence "do right!".
