Could 'relatively' be a good synonym for 'rather' in the following sentence?

    Hi teachers,
Could 'relatively' be a good synonym for 'rather' in the following sentence?

It's not rather late it's too late.

    Thanks in advance.

That's not a proper sentence. You probably mean "It's not rather late. It's too late" or "It's not rather late; it's too late."
But this could only be a reply to someone who claimed that it was rather late. So, you can't replace 'rather'.

Man: "I know it's rather late to be apologizing ..."
Woman: "It's not rather late. It's too late."

    Hi Raymott,
    Thank you for your reply.
    This is the situation:
Woman: Good morning Robert. It's rather late, but at least drink your coffee.
Man: I can't drink it Mrs. Anderson. The coffee is too hot and it's not rather late; it's too late for me.

If the woman said "relatively", the man would say, "It's not relatively late." He will answer to whatever she says. That doesn't make 'relatively' a good synonym. Besides, it's not a likely sentence.

    Hi Raymott,
    Thank you for your reply.
Ooops! Could you rephrase the dialogue including the word 'rather' please?

    Thanks in advance.

    Woman: "... it's rather late..."
Man: "Yes, it is rather late. In fact, I must be going."

    Woman: "... it's rather late..."
Man: "Yes, too late for coffee, I'm afraid."

The man isn't going to make friends by arguing whether it's rather late or too late. We do that here, of course, but there's no reason to do it over a casual coffee.
