Default Are these sentences natural? April 20

    Hi,

Are the following sentences natural to a native ear?

    1. What is the rate for sales of cattle in Saudi Arabia?

    2. The hygiene tests are applied at which level of the processing? At which level in the processing are the hygiene tests applied? (which one is more common and accurate in conversations?)

    3. That was your test . ( I said this to a junior person at work. I had left an error in a calculation to check if she catches it, and she caught it)

    Thanks,
    MG

Do you mean "How much does a cow cost in Saudi Arabia?" or "How many cattle are sold each day/month/year in Saudi Arabia?"?

    2. The hygiene tests are applied at which level of the processing? At which level in the processing are the hygiene tests applied? (which one is more common and accurate in conversations?)
The second word order is more common. Without knowing quite what it's about, I'm left wondering whether "in the processing" is right or if it should be "At which stage of the process ...". I also don't think hygiene tests are applied. It would sound better to me if they were "carried out".

It's OK, but I'd probably just expect to hear "That was a test".

    Thanks,
    MG
See above for my comments and queries. I made a couple of minor amendments too. Remember that we don't put a space after an opening bracket.

Actually, I wanted to say how much tax rate they charge on the proceeds from sale of cattles. How should I say that?

    Thanks.

You've almost written it yourself. "What is the tax rate on the proceeds from the sale of cattle in Saudi Arabia?"
