    Genitive

    Would you say "Chris' car" or "Chris's car" ?
    I've always thought it would be the first one, but now we're teached to use the last example.
    Can you use both?
    I'm a little confused :P

    You cannot use both - only Chris's car.
    s' is plural.
    Even among native speakers (Edit: ESPECIALLY among native speakers :)) it is a very common mistake.

    If it makes everyone feel better I should say that I've seen a majority of trainee teachers make similar mistakes.

    It does ;) My previous teacher never mentioned this. But I'll try and remember it now.
