Does this sentence sound natural and work as 'She is not as old as she looks'?
She is not old for her appearance.
I thought not. Good.
So how would you explain to your ESL students why that example doesn't work when this one is fine?
She looks young for her age.
Sometimes you just have to say that some constructions are just not used in English.
