    Default Prepositions

    Hello,

Which preposition should be used with the words factory, office, hotel, etc?

'Do you work at/in an office?"
    'No, I work at/in a factory.'

    Thanks

I would use either before "an office" but probably only "in" for a factory.

    For me, it's the reverse.

I like "in" for both, but "at" is possible. I would be more likely to say "at a factory" than "at an office."
