I'm not sure what the following in red means. Would you please paraphrase it more easily? Especially I don't know "3g's launch."

Steve offered his advice on an early redesign of Gawker's websites. The sketch did not meet Steve's standards of excellence...

Here you go, a rough sketch. Should be launched, as the standard face of Gizmodo, by the 3g's launch. What it's meant to do is be friendlier to scan for the 97% of our readers who don't come every day...

Thank you.

What is being launched?

Some kind of website design with a standardised/themed graphical user interface.

When is it being launched?

By the time of 3G's launch.

What does it do?

Make it easier for casual users of the website to read and interact with.

Thank you for the answer.

But I still don't know what "3g" is.
Does "g" refer to "generation"?
Is "3g" some kind of product?
So, is it saying "some kind of website design should be launched... by the time the 3g is launched"?
In this case, the first "launched" seems to mean "used or introduced," the second "launched" "released." I'm not sure.

Yes, "3g" would refer to a third generation product. Especially the mobile phone system, where 3g was the first mobile network to offer email and internet connectivity.

Without more context we can't tell you what exactly is meant by "3g" here.
