    Default past perfect?

Teacher, I am not sure if I have used the past perfect tense correctly. Please check. Thank you.

I have been informed by my niece that she attended at your school from 2005 to 2007.She had contacted your school and was told by your school that it did not have any records for that time period.

No, the past perfect is not appropriate there. Present perfect is possible but I would use past simple. You should delete the part in red.

    I agree with bhaisahab.

I have been informed by my niece that she attended your school from 2005 until 2007. However, when she contacted you, she was told that no records were held for that time period.
