I think that 'd can be an abbreviation for either had or would, is this correct?
A few examples:
He just isn’t the kind of guy I’d (1) want to call up. I’d (2) rather call old Thomas Hardy up.
He was exactly the kind of guy that wouldn’t get out of your light when you asked him to. He’d (3) do it, finally, but it took him a lot longer if you asked him to.
Say he had a tie on that you liked a helluvalot, you know what he would do? He’d (4) probably take it off and give it to you. He really would. Or – you know what he’d (5) do? He’d (6) leave it on your bed or something.
If someone have the time to tell me where it should be had or would in the above sentences I’d really appreciate it!
