    Default Define as specify, stipulates

Is it OK to use "define" with another usage different from "give the meaning of... sth"?
It sounds odd to me because till now I've just seen the verb "define" as "giving the meaning of..."

Is it OK to use the word "define" in the example below:

"When saving an ad-hoc query profile, you need to define a "Name" and a "Term" to that search."

In this case, "define" is similar to "specify". Is it possible?

The first doesn't work so well for me- you could use defined as. The second is OK.

Sorry, I didn't understand your answer. What do you mean by "first" and "second"? Is it about the example?

    Thanks for answering!
