Does changing "account" into "story" makes sentence different in this sentence?

"Marry gave a police full account of the incident."
Does changing "account" into "story" makes sentence different in the above sentence?

Re: Does changing "account" into "story" makes sentence different in this sentence?

story - WordReference.com Dictionary of English
account - WordReference.com Dictionary of English

As you will see, "account" is not meant for enterntainment, while story (be it fiction or real) is.

You could write "Mary gave the police the full story of the incident". I prefer the first example (with my corrections).
