    Mysteriousness

I've recently noticed some mysterious members. (I've often checked 'Who's online'.)
Their usernames usually consist of some alphabets selected randomly (,which don't make any sense at all.)
Strangely enough, they don't ask any questions while registering.

    To those mysterious members:

I've no idea at all what you are up to, but... if you are trying to place unnecessary loads on the server or... if you are trying to throw us into confusion, please stop it. I love UsingEnglish.com. It's like my treasure box.
    Thank you.

    Re: Mysteriousness

I understand how you feel, tzfujimino, but I don't think these people will take any notice of you. This type of person seems to think it clever/amusing/daring to irritate others. I have to admit that they do irritate me sometimes, when they post pointless messages that have to be deleted, but most of the time I just feel sorry for them. If irritating others is their main source of enjoyment, then they must have pretty sad lives.

    Re: Mysteriousness

They're not people- they're spam accounts created by programs. They choose weird letter combinations to try to guarantee that they have a name that hasn't already been chosen. Most don't actually manage to complete the registration and when they do, they get zapped. Some who were banned months ago still keep coming in and trying to post. They're trying to post links to sites selling fake Ugg boots and things like that. If they manage to register and post, they'll be deleted and banned very quickly.

    Thanks for your concern, though.
