Are these sentences natural? June 19

    Hi,

Are the following sentences natural to a native ear?

    1. Was their contract terminated or they left on their own accord?

    2. I have never been there, someone else must have told you about it.

    3. I have got it down pat / have it down pat. (I was talking about a routine task)

    Thanks,
    MG

2 and 3 sound fine to me. 1 should be "Was their contract terminated or did they leave of their own accord/volition?"
Remember - correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing make posts much easier to read.

In BrE ir is more normal to have things off pat, in my opinion.
