    told me to do

    Can one say:

    1-They told me a lot to do.


    (Meaning: They told me to do a lot of things.)

    1 sounds "They gave me a lot to do." but I don't think it is correct.)

    They gave me a lot to do.
    They told me to do a lot [of things].
    Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
