"He took video of the accident."
"He took a video of the accident."
"He took audio of the accident."
"He took an audio of the accident."

The first two sentences are okay English. Are the last two sentences okay?

#'s 2 & 4 are best, but with #4 I would use "recorded".

Thank you for your reply, billmcd!

I found this by accident:

nytimes.com/2006/05/07/nyregion/07hens.html?pagewanted=print
"Mr. Durand, 26, admitted that he and several others crept onto the Wegmans property three times in 2004, hoping to capture the scene on video. He took video of some hens stuck in the wires and others wandering in the manure pits. "

Could it be NY Times made an error?

I have never heard the term "audio of the accident". What is the use of it? Is it Just recording the sound when the accident occurs?

I have heard about black box but it records many things like speed etc but I haven't been aware of any device recording specifically the audio, so that, we can call audio of the accident.

I do not see why you couldn't take audio of an accident. Most modern cell phones are capable of recording audio, video or both at the same time. All you need to do is just turn on the recording function on you device and wait till an accident happens. Also, you could record phone conversations, as many subjects are required by law, and then if an accident happened, you would have an audio of the accident. There are many possible scenarios you could come up with where the phrase would be applicable.

For what it's worth, there are special devices the sole function of which is recording audio. They're called "voice recorders" or "Dictaphones".
