Span would not work, in my opinion. "What is the range of this walkie-talkie" would.I feel "radius" to be too "Latin" for this context (I would understand it better if used in the context of a dicussion on Geometry, for instance). Why not simply ask about its span? Would that work?
Hi,
I feel "radius" to be too "Latin" for this context (I would understand it better if used in the context of a dicussion on Geometry, for instance). Why not simply ask about its span? Would that work?
"Radius" is quite normal when talking about a point source, like a radio. Radio station WXYZ can be heard anywhere within a 25 mile radius.
However, the point of this thread is a walkie-talkie, which I'm not sure it is a "source point".
 On reflection (sorry, charliedeut ;-)) I withdraw my support for the word 'span'.Span would not work, in my opinion. "What is the range of this walkie-talkie" would.
