    Default willed curiosity

    Hi,

I don't know what "willed curiosity" mean, could anyone help me out?
    Thank you very much.

"H walked alongside the Bayshore Golf Club, watching with a willed curiosity the retirees out for their first eighteen holes."

It seems to be saying that he was willing himself to be curious, rather than actually feeling curious.

That was the conclusion I came to. It does seem a slightly strange thing to say in that context. I suppose the speaker might have been out for a walk with a friend who was talking at length about the fascination of watching retirees playing golf.

I'd be more likely to strike such a friend off my list than to will curiosity.
