    Does this sentence sound okay?

    Hello, teachers.

I have a question. Please see the below.

Whether the speaker is late, the annual investor’s conference will begin on time.

Does the use of "Whether" sound awkward?

If it is, can you tell me why?

    Thank you teachers in advance.

    Hello, juliana.

I think it should be either "Whether the speaker is late or not, the annual..." or "Whether or not the speaker is late, the annual..."

Re: Does this sentence sound okay?

If you don't want to use "Whether or not" you could say "Even if the speaker is late, the conference will start on time".
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
