    Arrow as if told

    Hi there,

    1) Shall I use as if told or as told in the sentence below.
    2) Does 'saying' collocate with 'jingle' or is there any other alternative?

The spiritual leaderís wise saying defines the essence of religion, and jingles as if told today.

Some of us have lives to lead in between posting responses here. Please have a little patience - and try to follow forum guidelines about capital letters and textspeak.

I'd rephrase the underlined part as, "and resonates as freshly as if uttered today".
