    his or her resources

What does this "resources" mean? "an available means afforded by the mind or one's personal capabilities"?
Its basic meaning seems to be "material or source", but for this, is it one's capability to deal with something?

ex)We should view stress not as an environmental stimulus or as a response but as the interaction of a thinking person and an event. Suppose you are stuck in a traffic jam. Depending on whether you are late for an appoinment or have plenty of time on your hands, you will probably feel very different about your situation...Thus, stres can be defined as a particular relationship between the person and the environment that is regarded by the person as exceeding his or her resources and endangering his or her well-being...

    Re: his or her resources

    NOT TEACHER

Well, as the concept of STRESS is being given here so how about this definition of resources: ''The ability to deal with a difficult or troublesome situation effectively''?? That's when a person would become stressed: when the situation is past his control and energies. Quite near to Capabilities, that is,and might just mean Limitations...!

    Re: his or her resources

Huda-M gave a detailed explanation. What part are you having difficulties with? By the way, I believe that you meant to write that you want an accurate answer, not an acute answer.

Huda-M's answer is just about as detailed and accurate as you can expect.
